We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team at Fox Creek Homes. In this position, you will be responsible for estimating labor and material costs for residential construction in Charleston, Columbia and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. You will work closely with our VP of Construction, Director of Operations, as well as our builders, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates and purchases are made to support our construction projects.
Work Location
- In Person if located in the Charleston market. Remote if location in the Columbia market. No relocation is provided.
Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough cost estimation and take-offs, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Creation of detailed job estimates
- Assist in rebate reporting
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes
- Review construction plans and specifications to identify materials and quantities needed
- Manage the bidding process for subcontractors and negotiate pricing
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Monitor and track project costs and budget
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Assist in purchasing, purchase order creation, and invoice review when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating and purchasing for residential construction projects or a combination of field and estimating experience in residential construction - required
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and best practices
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
