We are currently looking to add a trainer to our Waterloo, IA dealership.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must have a Class "B" Driver's License, or ability to obtain a CDL
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Must have a minimum of three years as a heavy or medium duty truck technician.
- Must be expert certified in either DTNA chassis and/or DTNA DD engine platform.
- Must possess excellent reading, writing and computer skills.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills and be capable of speaking in public and in front of groups.
- Must be available to travel to company locations in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Minnesota as needed.
- Must be capable of running engine diagnostic software.
- Be able to type a minimum of 30 WPM and equivalent word processing skills.
Performance Expectations:
- Provide training and development to employees throughout the Company. Act as a point of contact for managers and employees throughout the training process.
- Communicate with service managers and students regarding attendance of personnel, scheduling, travel and lodging, course materials and other issues that impact the attendance of students.
- Supervise Training assistant to ensure training records for students who have completed resident training at the Training Center are updated. Also maintain Freightliner, Detroit, Western Star and other OEM training records, and technician certifications.
- Distribute class evaluations to all students and retrieve when completed. Utilize the evaluations to monitor and improve training sessions.
- Proactively provide information about upcoming training to company dealership and ensure class schedules are sent out quarterly.
- Utilize classroom training time throughout the entire day.
- Acquire ASE Heavy/Medium Truck Master Technician status within one year of hire.
- Complete all Freightliner Web Based training modules during ninety-day probation period.
- Actively participate in the DTNA Dealer Training program. Travel to OEM sites and successfully complete Dealer Trainer Certification during the first two years of employment.
- Work with vendors such as Meritor, Rockwell and Allison to ensure that transmission training is updated.
- Continuously participate in developing and administering new training programs.
