Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Foreman/Pipe Layer to lead and execute underground utility installation projects with precision and safety. In this role, you will oversee the installation of sanitary sewer, stormwater, water supply, and other underground utility systems. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, and construction trenching will ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to exact specifications. Duties
- Lead and supervise pipe laying crews in the installation of underground utilities such as water & sanitary sewers, stormwater management systems, and pipe bursting.
- Operate heavy equipment including, loaders, backhoes, & excavators, to prepare trenches and move materials efficiently.
- Read and interpret detailed construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate pipe installation aligned with project specifications.
- Perform construction trenching activities following safety regulations and project guidelines to install underground utilities safely.
- Utilize utility locating tools and techniques to identify existing underground infrastructure before excavation.
- Conduct quality control checks on pipe alignment, connections, and system integrity using pipe lasers and other precision tools.
- Adhere strictly to federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols during all phases of work.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project progress and compliance with construction plans.
- Perform concrete finishing, pipe welding, plumbing connections, and concrete forming as needed for utility system installations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work progress, safety inspections, and compliance records throughout each project phase.
Skills
- Extensive experience operating heavy equipment such as , loaders, backhoes, & excavators.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans related to underground utilities installation.
- Knowledge of utility locating methods to prevent damage to existing underground infrastructure.
- Skilled in construction trenching techniques for sewer lines, water systems, stormwater drainage, and wastewater systems.
- Ability to perform pipe installation using laser alignment tools for precise positioning.
- Strong understanding of federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence on job sites.
- Experience with concrete finishing processes including forming and pouring for utility access points or related structures.
- Familiarity with welding techniques used in pipe joining or repairs.
- Competence in operating hand tools for various tasks on the job site.
- Knowledge of plumbing standards relevant to sewer line installation and underground utility connections.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for complex pipeline projects involving oil & gas or municipal infrastructure.
- Experience working on large-scale construction site projects involving sanitary drainage systems or stormwater management systems.
