Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive 3rd Shift Security Guard to uphold safety and security during overnight hours. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access points, and ensuring the safety of personnel, property, and assets. Your energetic approach and keen eye for detail will help maintain a secure environment through surveillance, incident management, and emergency response procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the first line of defense in a fast-paced setting while utilizing a broad skill set including law enforcement knowledge, first aid capabilities, and physical security expertise.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patrols of the facility using CCTV surveillance systems and physical patrols to detect any irregularities or security breaches.
- Manage access control systems to verify identities and authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations by executing established procedures such as fire safety protocols, medical emergencies including first aid and CPR, and conflict de-escalation techniques.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities with clarity and accuracy.
- Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, firearms (where permitted), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), CCTV cameras, and other surveillance tools to ensure continuous protection.
- Enforce compliance with security regulations by patrolling premises regularly, managing crowd control when necessary, and preventing loss or theft through proactive loss prevention measures.
Experience
- Prior experience in physical security or law enforcement roles is highly preferred; military background is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance systems including CCTV operation and monitoring techniques.
- Training or certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols is required; additional certifications such as Taser use or firearm handling are advantageous.
- Proven ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when required for equipment or incident response scenarios.
- Experience in conflict management and de-escalation techniques to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures and compliance with security regulations is essential for success in this role.
- Strong customer service skills to interact courteously with staff, visitors, and vendors while maintaining a secure environment.
