This is an 8 hour per day, 210 days per year, Warehouse II Lead position in the Nutrition Services Department.
Hours for this position are 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience or training in warehouse and delivery work, computer skills, Excel and ordering system.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with purchasing and shipping/receiving in a food distribution organization.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for oversight of the daily operation and distribution of school nutrition services products, supplies, mail, laundry, etc. to and from school sites throughout the District.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversight of Nutrition Services deliveries to school sites for the purpose of ensuring schools receive the products they need in a timely manner for meal service. This includes organization and oversight of delivery schedules for two warehousemen/delivery drivers.

Order, receive, properly store and organize 100+ nutrition services products delivered by a variety of vendors to the warehouse for the purpose of meeting the central kitchen, school meal and A la Carte, and summer program production and nutrition services needs.

Direct staff, prepare District and State Reports as prescribed, track inventory, rotate stock, and account for product costs and storage needs for the purpose of meeting nutrition services program requirements and deadlines.

Maintain an up-to-date inventory list of products in the warehouse; assist the Central Kitchen Cook and School Kitchen Leads to coordinate the use of warehouse stock with menu items, ensuring that food items are available and delivered when needed, used in a timely manner, and delivered when needed for meal service.

Assist with organizing and pulling nutrition services items daily, including dry, refrigerated, and frozen foods; assist with loading these items onto delivery trucks each morning and scheduling delivery routes and times to provide for efficient delivery of products on time.

Communicate and collaborate with other nutrition services employees in a timely manner daily to quickly address program issues, last minute needs and emergencies for the purpose of ensuring the smooth central and school kitchen operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

Operate and maintain equipment to include, but not limited to: delivery vehicles ranging in size from 18-26 feet long, hydraulic lift gate, electric pallet jack, forklift and transportation equipment.

Perform minor equipment repairs in the Central Kitchen.

Perform light maintenance to delivery vehicles including fueling, washing, and reporting service needs to the transportation department

Ability to read, write, and interpret written instructions and perform basic math.

Physical ability to perform manual work associated with warehouse duties including lifting 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Physical ability to work in walk-in freezers for extended periods of time.

Ability to build and maintain positive and effective relations and work cooperatively to support school district staff, students, parents and the general public.

Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and to be flexible in meeting deadlines.

Valid Washington Driver’s License, including Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with acceptable driving record for the purpose of driving District delivery vehicles.
