Outside Roofing Sales Representative
Independent Contractor (1099) | 100% Commission | Uncapped Earning Potential
Job Summary
RuFR USA is seeking motivated, self-directed Outside Sales Representatives to help homeowners identify potential hail and wind damage and understand their roofing and storm-restoration options.
This is an independent contractor, 1099 position designed for someone who is comfortable working in the field, speaking directly with homeowners, and generating their own sales opportunities. RuFR USA will assist with identifying and assigning territories where properties are more likely to have been affected by recent hail or wind events.
The primary lead-generation method is door-to-door outreach offering homeowners a free roof inspection. Representatives may also use other lawful sales methods, including direct mail, cold calling, cold email outreach, networking, referrals, and community-based marketing.
There is no set schedule, no cap on commissions, and substantial freedom to develop the prospecting approach that works best for you. This is a 100% commission-based opportunity with compensation equal to a 50/50 split of the profit generated by each completed job. Draws may be considered on an individual basis.
Responsibilities
- Generate qualified roofing leads within assigned or self-developed territories.
- Conduct door-to-door outreach in neighborhoods with a higher likelihood of identifiable hail or wind damage.
- Offer homeowners free roof inspections and explain the purpose and benefits of having their property evaluated.
- Build trust with homeowners through professional, honest, and informative conversations.
- Schedule roof inspections and maintain consistent communication with prospective customers.
- Inspect properties directly when trained and authorized, or coordinate inspections with the appropriate RuFR USA team member.
- Present roofing recommendations, project options, and company services to qualified homeowners.
- Follow up with leads throughout the inspection, proposal, approval, and installation process.
- Obtain signed agreements and help move qualified projects through the company’s sales process.
- Attend meetings with homeowners and company representatives when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, appointments, follow-ups, proposals, and active projects.
- Develop additional lead-generation methods such as cold calling, direct mail, email outreach, referrals, networking, and local partnerships.
- Represent RuFR USA professionally and follow all company guidelines, applicable solicitation rules, and local laws.
- Clearly explain that RuFR USA is a roofing contractor and does not act as a public insurance adjuster or provide legal advice.
What RuFR USA Provides
- Assistance identifying and assigning promising sales territories.
- Access to areas where available weather data or visible property conditions indicate potential hail or wind damage.
- Training on roofing systems, storm damage identification, inspections, sales conversations, and the RuFR USA customer process.
- Company marketing materials and sales resources.
- Support with inspections, estimating, project development, production, and customer communication.
- Established company processes to help move qualified opportunities from the initial inspection through project completion.
- Freedom to create and use the lead-generation strategy that works best for you.
- Uncapped commission potential.
Compensation
- Independent contractor, 1099 position.
- 100% commission-based compensation.
- No limit on earning potential.
- Commission equal to 50% of the profit generated by each completed job, subject to the company’s written commission agreement.
- Potential draws may be approved on an individual basis.
- No guaranteed salary, hourly wage, or minimum number of assigned leads.
Schedule
There is no fixed work schedule. Representatives are responsible for managing their own prospecting, appointments, follow-ups, and customer meetings.
Because homeowners are often most accessible during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, successful representatives should be willing to work during the times that produce the best results.
Qualifications
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with homeowners in person.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently without a set daily schedule.
- Willingness to generate leads through door-to-door sales and other prospecting methods.
- Ability to handle rejection professionally and remain consistent.
- Organized enough to manage multiple leads, appointments, and active projects.
- Honest, dependable, professional, and customer-focused.
- Comfortable working outdoors and traveling throughout assigned territories.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a smartphone.
- Ability to safely access and inspect roofs is beneficial but not required for every candidate.
- Previous roofing, construction, home-improvement, storm-restoration, canvassing, or outside-sales experience is preferred but not required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, persistent, personable, and motivated by performance-based income. You should be comfortable creating your own opportunities rather than waiting for leads to be handed to you.
This position may be a strong fit for someone with experience in:
- Roofing or exterior remodeling sales
- Door-to-door canvassing
- Solar, pest control, telecommunications, or home-security sales
- Automotive or real estate sales
- Construction or property inspections
- Storm-restoration sales
- Commission-based business development
