The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in healthcare facilities by ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and prepared for patient procedures.
*Duties*
- Clean, sterilize, assemble, and package medical supplies and instruments
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves
- Follow proper aseptic techniques to prevent infections
- Maintain accurate records of processed items
- Monitor and track inventory levels of sterile supplies
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols in handling hazardous materials
*Experience*
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Proficiency in aseptic technique
- Experience in inventory management within a healthcare setting
- Previous exposure to sterile processing procedures
