Title Assistant, Sales Intake

Essential duties and responsibilities
Summary. The Sales Intake Assistant (SIA) is a customer service role that serves as the first point of contact for patients, customers, and other visitors to BeWell’s co-located medical and adult-use cannabis dispensary. The SIA conducts a welcoming, compliant, efficient intake procedure in accordance with company policies and procedures and maintains critical control points related to guest entry and site/facility safety and security. For continuity of operations, the SIA is cross-trained to conduct sales transactions.
The SIA operates hardware and software systems related to adult-use consumer and medical patient access to the dispensary, including following HIPAA guidelines for the handling and storage of protected health information (PHI), as well as point-of-sale (POS) systems for the sale of medical and adult-use cannabis. SA completes all training related to the company and sales activities to safely and effectively perform job tasks, including developing product knowledge to serve customers and patients most effectively.
· Maintain site and facility cleanliness, safety, and security during operating hours, including entry vestibule presentation
· Monitor site and facility, including compliant use of surveillance system, and report risks for resolution
· Provide exemplary customer service:
o Greet and receive all guests in compliance with company policies and procedures, including compliant handling of PHI generated by medical patient activity
o Operate state portals, ID verification, point-of-sale, and other hardware/software and applications to receive patients and consumers into the Retail dispensary in a timely, efficient manner
o Answer general inquiries about dispensary policies, products, prices, and promotions
o Answer and direct phone calls
o Transact the sale of medical and adult-use cannabis products and accessories
· File and maintain records related to guest reception, including the Visitor Log
· Communicate resource requirements and feedback to Retail leadership to ensure the company can respond to the needs of Retail operations
Physical requirements
· Pleasant, professional demeanor and appearance suitable for serving a diverse customer base, including medical patients
· Ability to stand or sit for an eight-hour shift
· Occasional bending, reaching, grasping, and squatting to access materials
· Ability to lift at least 30 pounds with or without assistance
Skills and qualifications
· Experience performing cannabis retail activities, especially customer service, point-of-sale transactions, compliance, and security
· Hardware, software, and application skills, including the useof recordkeeping systems
· Ability to triage issues for interdepartmental resolution, especially those related to safety and security
· Problem-solving, communication, and de-escalation skills, especially related to customer service
· Experience working in highly regulated environments, e.g., compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, including but not limited to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, OSHA, Town of Merrimac, and ServSafe
· Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow policies and procedures
· Minimum age 21 years
· Ability to pass all required background checks and complete all required training, including but not limited to: Responsible Vendor Training (RVT), General and Retail Department company policies and procedures
