Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will work with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, providing support and implementing behavior intervention plans. Your role will be crucial in helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Duties:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with autism
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mealtime support, and medication administration
- Monitor vital signs and provide care for individuals with medical needs
- Utilize crisis management techniques when necessary to ensure the safety of clients and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines when handling client information
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Proficient in data collection methods and techniques
- Familiarity with medical records management
- Ability to implement behavior intervention plans effectively
- Strong crisis management skills
- Understanding of PTSD care principles
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
