Job Title: General Laborer / Fabrication Shop Helper
37865 Metal Works is looking for a dependable, hardworking General Laborer / Shop Helper to assist with day-to-day operations in our metal fabrication shop.
This is a hands-on position supporting our fabricators and welders while helping keep materials, equipment, and work areas moving efficiently. No fabrication or welding experience is required. We’re looking for someone who shows up, works hard, follows instructions, and is willing to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to move material, parts, and equipment
- Load, unload, move, and organize steel and other materials
- Assist welders and fabricators with general shop tasks
- Sand, grind, deburr, and clean fabricated parts
- Assist with blasting and surface preparation
- Sweep, clean, and maintain shop and work areas
- Help stage material and parts for production
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Perform general material handling and heavy lifting
- Use basic hand and power tools
- Help maintain an organized and safe shop
- Perform other general shop duties as needed
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Dependable and able to arrive on time consistently
- Able to perform physical work and lift heavy materials
- Comfortable working in an industrial fabrication environment
- Able to follow instructions and work safely
- Willing to get dirty and work with steel, dust, grinding, blasting, etc.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Forklift experience preferred, but we can train the right person
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus, but not required
