Position Summary
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nightly production operations within the metal building manufacturing area. This role supports production goals, maintains quality and safety standards, assists with employee training, and helps ensure efficient workflow throughout the shift.
This is a working lead position. The Shift Supervisor will cross-train in multiple production areas to better assist team members and develop a strong understanding of the operations being supervised. The Shift Supervisor works closely with management, machine operators, and production staff to maintain productivity and resolve issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support production employees during 2nd shift operations
- Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production schedules
- Ensure all safety procedures and company policies are followed
- Assist with machine setup, troubleshooting, and general production support
- Train and develop employees on equipment operation, production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures
- Mentor and support new employees to help them succeed in their roles
- Monitor product quality and address issues promptly
- Coordinate with maintenance and management regarding equipment concerns
- Maintain accurate production and shift reports
- Communicate with 1st shift leadership and production teams to ensure smooth shift transitions
- Report to work early as needed to meet with 1st shift personnel regarding production updates, planning, and issue handoff
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the production area
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certificate preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of welding and/or fabrication experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, welding symbols, and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Experience:
