Assistant Manager – Bruster’s Real Ice Cream (Williamsburg, VA)

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is looking for an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Assistant Manager to help lead our team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with people, delivering exceptional customer service, and helping a team succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist with daily store operations and shift management
- Lead and motivate team members during shifts
- Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve guest concerns
- Train, coach, and develop employees
- Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and operational standards are maintained
- Assist with scheduling and shift coverage
- Handle cash management, deposits, and opening/closing procedures
- Help manage inventory and product quality
- Decorate ice cream cakes and prepare custom cake orders
- Make fresh ice cream according to Bruster’s standards
- Support catering events, fundraisers, and community partnerships
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for guests and team members
- Step in and confidently run the store when a manager is not present
Qualifications
- Previous leadership, supervisory, restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
