Responsibilities
- Organize, file, and maintain comprehensive medical records in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements
- Retrieve and provide medical records promptly to authorized personnel, patients, or external agencies as needed
- Ensure all records are accurately coded with appropriate medical terminology, ICD-10 coding for accuracy and completion
- Update electronic health record (EHR) systems regularly to reflect the latest patient information and treatment details
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of incoming medical documentation before filing or scanning into the system
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with privacy laws such as HIPAA
- Coordinate audits and quality assurance reviews by providing organized documentation and reports on daily basis. Skills
- 2 years minimum of prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility is necessary
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for efficient data entry and retrieval
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and categorize health information
- Excellent organizational skills to manage large volumes of medical records systematically
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record-keeping and data entry processes
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, patients, and external agencies
This role requires initiation and strong interpersonal skills. Enforcing skills are a must!
