Pay: $25-$32/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Who We Are:
Opti Staffing is hiring an experienced
Combo Welder / Metal Fabricator for a growing fabrication shop in NE Portland. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional with strong fabrication and welding skills who can produce high-quality work from blueprints and specifications.
What You'll Do:
- Fabricate steel and other metal components according to blueprints and technical drawings
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum
- Lay out cutting lines and material dimensions accurately
- Use measuring and inspection tools to verify quality and precision
- Fit, assemble, and weld fabricated metal parts
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace
- Ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule

What You Need to Have:
- Previous welding and metal fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using measuring and inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read a tape measure and work with basic decimals
- Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety
The Musts:
- MIG and TIG welding experience
- Experience welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Strong fitting and layout skills
- Reliable attendance and transportation
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials throughout the shift
Preferred:
- Completion of a technical trade program or welding certification
- Combination welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Advanced blueprint reading skills
- Experience with custom fabrication projects
