Overview
Join our dynamic transportation team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver, where your expertise will ensure safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services. In this vital role, you will operate various types of vehicles while providing excellent customer service. Your dedication to safety, adherence to traffic laws. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community through responsible driving and caring interaction. You'll drive a company truck with no vehicle expenses on your end. Work Monday-Friday days with additional work available some evenings and weekends. Drivers who work efficiently are able to complete more deliveries and maximize their earnings. Up to 25% of weekly gross. Average pay with current market is 2,500-3,500.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles.
- Follow all transportation safety regulations, including emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and vehicle codes.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers using effective English or communication skills to provide updates and handle inquiries.
- Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected road conditions by adjusting routes safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical integrity and readiness for service; report any issues promptly.
- Assist with loading heavy luggage or equipment when needed, demonstrating physical strength and mechanical knowledge.
- Uphold high standards of passenger safety by following emergency stop procedures, traffic laws, and transportation safety regulations.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Proven experience operating commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, and state/local commercial driving laws.
- Strong communication skills in English; abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for luggage or equipment handling.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent defensive driving skills combined with quick response capabilities to adapt swiftly to traffic changes or road hazards.
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed for transportation schedules.
