We are hiring an experienced or minimal experienced cook/prep cook for Arbor Senior Living community. This position is responsible for all resident dining experiences, preparation of food and cleanliness of Kitchen, including maintaining special diets, appropriate and creative menu planning and presentation. Coordination of Food Service for all Special Events, meeting all regulatory and DHS requirements for Food Service and Ensuring Resident Satisfaction for Food Service.
Preparing all Food in Regulation with DHS Requirement: Preparing meals that meet regulation and is pleasing to the eye and taste. Menus should be homemade items that are not prepackaged. Menus should be for breakfast, lunch and dinner and an always available “anytime” menu must be available. Snacks must be provided as well. Additional items for Activities and Marketing Events may be requested.
Kitchen and Dining Room Cleanliness:
Completes Cleaning Lists to ensure the Kitchen and Dining Room are kept clean and orderly at all times. That food is properly stored and labeled and that free from sanitation hazards. All appliances should be properly maintained and in good working order. All temperature logs are kept and followed.
Safety Compliance:
20 hours of online training must be completed before working with seniors.
The Cook is responsible for ensuring that they and any employees reporting to them work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are to be managed. Compliance with Safety Committee Standards is required. Should workplace injuries occur, the Department Heads and Directors are to assist the Executive Director when required with the investigation, return to work, and management of the injured worker communication with Arbor.
Team Effectiveness:
The cook is responsible for fostering teamwork with co-workers, showing initiative in overcoming obstacles, taking actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and having a positive impact on co-workers, residents and visitors.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
