Position Summary
The Overnight Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of all public areas while providing operational support to the Housekeeping team during overnight hours. This role ensures guest and employee areas are clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the following day's operations. The Overnight Attendant also responds promptly to guest requests, assists with deep cleaning projects, and supports hotel operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience consistent with theWit Chicago's luxury standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clean and maintain all public areas, including lobbies, elevators, hallways, restrooms, meeting spaces, fitness center, and employee areas.

Perform overnight deep cleaning of carpets, floors, walls, windows, furniture, and other public space surfaces.

Restock housekeeping closets, linen rooms, guest supplies, and amenities throughout the hotel.

Collect, transport, and distribute clean and soiled linens as needed.

Remove trash, recycling, and debris from guest and back-of-house areas.

Respond promptly to guest requests, including delivery of amenities, extra linens, towels, cribs, rollaway beds, and other requested items.

Assist Room Attendants by stripping rooms, removing trash, delivering supplies, and completing special cleaning assignments.

Set up and break down meeting rooms or public spaces as directed.

Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to the appropriate department.

Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and other cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.

Ensure all housekeeping storage areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures.

Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous, friendly service to all guests and team members.

Perform additional duties as assigned by Housekeeping leadership.
Qualifications

Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
Physical Requirements

Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach overhead frequently.

Operate cleaning equipment and safely handle housekeeping chemicals.

Work Environment
This position works primarily in guestroom corridors and occupied guestrooms and requires frequent interaction with guests and hotel team members. The Overnight Attendant is expected to maintain a professional appearance, deliver exceptional hospitality, and contribute to a positive guest experience consistent with the luxury service standards of theWit Chicago and Hilton.
