Position Summary
The Power Equipment Sales Specialist is responsible for driving sales and customer relationships within the power equipment department across all seasons. This role focuses on selling lawn equipment in the spring and summer, and snow equipment in the fall and winter, while also developing relationships with commercial customers to support year-round revenue growth.
This position combines in-store sales, business development, and customer engagement, including responding to online inquiries and supporting store-level marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is a motivated salesperson who can build relationships, follow up consistently, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Experience
- Assist customers in selecting power equipment including mowers, snowblowers, and handheld equipment
- Provide product knowledge, demonstrations, and recommendations based on customer needs
- Drive attachment, accessory, and add-on sales
- Support financing conversations and close sales opportunities
Seasonal Equipment Focus
- Promote and sell lawn equipment during spring and summer seasons
- Promote and sell snow equipment during fall and winter seasons
- Support pre-season selling strategies and inventory movement
- Educate customers on maintenance, service, and seasonal readiness
B2B / Commercial Sales
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses including landscapers, property managers, and snow removal companies
- Identify and pursue new commercial sales opportunities
- Follow up on quotes and maintain a pipeline of potential sales
- Support multi-unit and repeat purchase opportunities
Customer Engagement & Social Media Support
Respond to customer inquiries through Facebook, Marketplace, and other online channels
- Post product highlights, promotions, and seasonal inventory as needed
- Assist in turning online inquiries into in-store visits and sales opportunities
Follow-Up & Sales Pipeline
- Track and follow up on customer quotes and leads
- Maintain relationships with past customers to drive repeat business
- Partner with the service department to promote repairs, maintenance, and service packages
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous sales experience in power equipment, automotive, agricultural equipment, or related field preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to build relationships and close sales
- Comfortable using Facebook and digital tools for customer interaction
- Self-motivated with strong follow-up and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal retail environment
Work Environment & Expectations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods (May–July)
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Hands-on role requiring active participation on the sales floor

- Base pay plus commission and/or performance-based incentives
