Position Overview
CooperWorks Ind. is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent / Inventory Control Specialist to manage procurement activities and maintain accurate inventory levels supporting manufacturing operations. Candidates with laminate, cabinetry, millwork, furniture, or related manufacturing experience are strongly preferred.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase laminates, substrates, adhesives, hardware, and
manufacturing materials.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options.
- Collaborate with production to forecast material requirements.
Inventory Control Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, laminates, hardware, and production
supplies.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions in ERP/MRP systems.
- Coordinate with purchasing and production to avoid stockouts and excess
inventory.
- Develop inventory control procedures that improve accuracy and reduce waste.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain experience in
manufacturing.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the laminate, cabinetry, furniture, millwork, or woodworking
industries.
- Knowledge of decorative laminates, edge banding, substrates, adhesives, and
hardware.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory planning.
