Lightscape is an illuminated trail experience. This large-scale event will feature approximately 15 light-based installations and trail lighting along a 1-mile pathway, requiring a skilled Master Electrician to ensure an adequate and safe power distribution system.
Job Summary:
The Master Electrician will be responsible for the complete electrical planning, installation, operation, and strike of all electrical systems. This role requires a highly experienced and organized individual with a strong understanding of large-scale outdoor electrical installations, generator power distribution, IP66 rated equipment and temporary event power systems.
Responsibilities:Power Plan Development:
Create a comprehensive power plan for the entire Lightscape pathway, including generator placement, electrical distribution equipment, and cabling routes.
Accurately determine power needs for all light-based installations and trail lighting based on provided specifications.
Calculate and ensure proper power balance from generators and provide ample circuits for all electrical components.
Equipment Management:
Determine and specify all necessary electrical equipment, including generators, distribution panels, cabling, and safety devices.
Work closely with the lighting vendor to ensure all equipment is organized, programmed, labeled, and tested prior to on-site delivery.
Determine and implement best methods and procedures for the installation, operation, and strike of all electrical equipment.
Installation Oversight:
Determine crew needs and organize the installation of all electrical equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
Supervise the installation process, ensuring proper waterproofing and masking of all cabling.
Ensure all installations are up to code.
Site Coordination:
Attend site walkthroughs as required to familiarize yourself with the garden layout and specific installation locations.
Coordinate with the local Lighting Designer to ensure their power requirements are met and integrated seamlessly into the overall design.
Logistics and Planning:
Outline and manage the labor plan for the electrical installation and strike.
Attend the electrical equipment vendor location, October 27-29, 2026 to verify, label, test, address all equipment.
Operational Support:
Be available for on-call consultation during the show run (November 19, 2026 January 3, 2027) to address any electrical issues.
Strike and Load Out:
Organize and oversee the efficient and safe load-out of all electrical systems from January 4th January 7th, 2027.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with local and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience with large-scale outdoor electrical installations and temporary event power systems.
Proven ability to create and implement comprehensive power plans.
Strong knowledge of generator power distribution and electrical safety practices.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.1
