Position Summary:
The TIG Welder is responsible for performing high-precision welding on stainless steel and other materials in compliance with or exceeding ASME B31 code standards, all weld positions required including 6G. The role requires strong fabrication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications. In addition to welding, this position will support general metal fabrication tasks and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and various metals with precision and consistency.
- Weld in 6G position in accordance with ASME B31 code requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, conformance, and structural integrity.
- Review and verify accuracy of parts and components during and after fabrication.
- Follow daily production plans and welding procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues to ensure timelines are met.
- Maintain detailed records of completed work and ensure documentation is accurate.
- Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and delivery deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained fabrication area.
- Ensure tools, welding equipment, and machinery are in safe working order.
- Comply with all safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in maintaining shop cleanliness and organization.
Qualifications:
- Certified TIG welder with proven experience working under ASME B31 code standards.
- Proficient in 6G welding with strong consistency and precision.
- Ability to pass a weld test during the interview process.
- Experience reading blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication layouts.
- Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- Indoor fabrication shop setting with moderate noise levels.
- Exposure to welding fumes, metal dust, and high-heat tools.
- Regular standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive manual tasks.
- Use of welding machines, grinders, and metalworking tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay: $30- $35 (Based on Experience)
