About the Opportunity
A growing multifamily housing organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Community Manager to support the daily operations of a residential community. This role works closely with the Community Manager and plays a key part in resident relations, leasing, rent collection, financial administration, compliance, and overall property operations.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Community Manager or in a similar property management role.
- Working knowledge of LIHTC and Tax Credit housing programs required.
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant practices.
- Experience with rent collection, resident accounts, and property bookkeeping.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and property management software.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management platforms preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
Key ResponsibilitiesResident Relations & Customer Service
- Deliver a high level of customer service to residents, prospective residents, and visitors.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident inquiries, concerns, and service requests.
- Support resident retention efforts through engagement programs and community events.
- Maintain accurate and confidential resident records.
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist walk-in traffic.
- Support leasing activities, including prospect follow-up, property tours, and application processing.
- Serve as a resource for residents regarding community policies, procedures, and available resources.
Financial Administration & Property Operations
- Process rental payments, security deposits, and other community income.
- Maintain accurate resident ledgers and financial records.
- Monitor delinquent accounts and communicate with residents regarding outstanding balances.
- Assist with collection efforts in accordance with company policies and lease agreements.
- Support monthly reporting, occupancy tracking, and operational performance reviews.
- Conduct inspections of vacant units, model apartments, and common areas.
- Identify maintenance concerns, property appearance issues, and potential policy violations.
- Assist with budgeting and financial performance discussions as requested.
Operational Support & Team Coordination
- Support daily property operations and help ensure efficient workflow throughout the community.
- Assist with supervising operations in the absence of the Community Manager.
- Collaborate with leasing, maintenance, and compliance teams to ensure service goals are met.
- Promote adherence to Fair Housing guidelines and company standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the community.
- Support file audits, recordkeeping, and compliance-related activities.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure community operations comply with applicable housing regulations and industry standards.
- Assist with compliance documentation and record maintenance.
- Support lease enforcement procedures, notices, and required legal documentation.
- Follow established processes related to resident account management and occupancy requirements.
- Help identify and mitigate potential liability and compliance concerns.
Work Environment
- Combination of office-based work and community walk-throughs.
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
- Regular walking throughout the property, including outdoor areas.
- Ability to inspect units, common areas, and community amenities.
- Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- May be required to assist with emergency situations and property-related incidents as needed.
