Pay: $80,000–$110,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Own HR operations end to end for the full store network: onboarding, employee handbook and policies, performance processes, and offboarding
- Ensure California wage-and-hour compliance, including meal/rest breaks, overtime, and timekeeping records; administer the timekeeping system and audit timecard exceptions (store managers approve daily timecards)
- Administer payroll and benefits, maintain employee records, and manage workers' compensation claims and leaves of absence
- Build the hourly hiring engine that supports new store openings and the onboarding of newly integrated locations across the network
- Own store and office administration: centralized purchasing of equipment and supplies, vendor accounts, utilities and internet setup, business license renewals, insurance certificates, and fixed-asset tracking
- Prepare the HR and administrative foundation for multi-state expansion: payroll registrations, policy localization, and compliance in new markets
Requirements
- 5–8 years of HR generalist experience in hourly-workforce industries (retail, restaurant, hospitality, or logistics)
- California employment law experience required; multi-state experience a plus
- Hands-on experience administering payroll systems and workers' compensation
- Proven ability to build HR infrastructure from scratch in a lean organization; comfortable owning administrative work alongside HR
- Growth mindset: wants to scale with the company from a regional base to a national platform
- Spanish language skills a plus
- Authorized to work in the United States
