Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, move, and position materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and manual methods to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts and updating the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments for dispatch.
- Handle materials safely using proper manual handling techniques while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Utilize crane operations when necessary for lifting heavy or oversized items with mechanical knowledge of material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while following safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during heavy lifting or equipment operation.
- Support warehouse supervision by following instructions for order processing, load & unload tasks, and overall warehouse operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or materials handling within a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift certification with hands-on experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols including OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling.
- Mechanical aptitude or construction experience is a plus for understanding equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during order picking or load & unload activities.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors in fast-paced settings.
- Prior warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous but not required; a proactive attitude toward safety and operational excellence is essential.
