The Therapy SPOT is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. The Therapy SPOT is clinician owned, OT/PT/speech out patient clinic that is dedicated to providing therapy services that celebrate neurodiversity and promote a strength-based, holistic approach to supporting children’s development across a wide age range (birth to adult) for the best continuity of care. The ideal candidate will be an advocate for neurodivergent children, with a commitment to individualized care and a strong desire to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community partners to enhance the child’s well-being and overall function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice: Deliver therapy services that embrace neurodivergent identities and are rooted in a deep understanding and affirmation of neurological differences (including autism, ADHD, and other conditions).
- Individualized Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to address motor, sensory, , social, and emotional needs in children.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to each child’s development and success.
- Family Education and Support: Provide education, coaching, and resources to families to empower them to support their child’s development both at home and in community settings.
- Culturally Competent and Inclusive Practices: Apply culturally sensitive approaches that acknowledge and respect each child’s unique background and needs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough and timely records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with families and other team members.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy, neurodiversity-affirming care, and related fields, and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities; areas include feeding, sensory processing, emotional regulation, motor planning, and more
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current, active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience:
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations, especially neurodivergent children.
- Experience in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and mental health professionals.
- Strong understanding of sensory processing, fine and gross motor development, executive functioning, and social skills development in children.
- Skills and Competencies:
- A neurodiversity-affirming mindset and the ability to work with a variety of neurodivergent diagnoses in a supportive, respectful manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to meet the diverse needs of children and their families.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with or certification in sensory integration therapy, DIR/Floortime, or other neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic frameworks
