A Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and work areas using water, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation procedures to maintain food safety and regulatory standards.

Job Summary: The Sanitation Technician performs thorough cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, processing areas, and facility surfaces using approved cleaning methods, chemicals, and sanitation procedures. This role ensures compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards while maintaining a clean production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform wet cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, machinery, floors, walls, drains, and work areas.
· Disassemble and reassemble equipment for proper cleaning and inspection.
· Mix and use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
· Operate cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, foamers, hoses, and sanitation tools.
· Remove product residue, debris, and waste from production areas.
· Conduct pre-operational inspections to verify equipment is clean and ready for production.
· Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and required documentation accurately.
· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SSOPs, and company sanitation procedures.
· Report equipment damage, maintenance needs, or sanitation concerns to supervisors.
· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
· Assist with other cleaning or production duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Previous sanitation, janitorial, food manufacturing, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
· Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
· Basic reading, writing, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
· Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Work in wet, cold, hot, and noisy environments.
· Comfortable using ladders and working around production machinery.
· Ability to wear PPE including gloves, boots, eye protection, hearing protection, and waterproof clothing.
Work Environment:
· Food manufacturing or industrial production facility.
· Frequent exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, steam, and sanitation equipment.
· Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and adherence to strict food safety and sanitation standards.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
