Simple Vue Academy (SVA) is a mission-driven middle and high school serving grades 6–12 with a bold focus on STREAM education, entrepreneurship, and student agency. Our mission is to support scholars in discovering who they are, where they are going, and how they will get there, while ensuring every student—regardless of learning need—has access to high-quality, rigorous instruction.
At SVA, Special Education is not a separate system—it is an integrated, instructionally strong support model grounded in collaboration, equity, and purposeful planning. We are looking for a Part-Time Special Education Teacher (Pull-Out/Resource) for the 2026–2027 school year for an educator who is instructionally skilled across content areas, flexible, and student-centered, and who values intellectual preparation, inclusion, and compliance-minded practice.
Position OverviewIEP Caseload & Compliance
- Own an assigned IEP caseload — write and maintain IEPs in Go-IEP, including goal development, progress monitoring, and required documentation
- Prepare for and participate in initial meetings, annual reviews, and re-evaluations (with support from our contracted Special Education Director)
- Support 504 plan development and annual management for assigned students
- Assist in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans as needed
- Ensure timelines and documentation for assigned caseload meet Georgia DOE and federal IDEA requirements
Scholar Instruction & Support (Pull-Out, Multi-Subject)
- Deliver targeted, small-group pull-out instruction across core content areas (ELA, math, science, social studies, as assigned) aligned to IEP goals
- Use progress-monitoring data to drive instructional decisions and adjust scaffolds
- Teach self-advocacy, organization, and executive functioning strategies
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth in pull-out sessions
- Maintain high expectations while providing appropriate, individualized support
Meetings & Coordination
- Schedule and facilitate IEP and 504 meetings for assigned caseload with service providers, teachers, and families
- Coordinate scheduling of pull-out sessions with general education and gifted educators
- Coordinate with external specialized service vendors and providers as needed
- Collaborate with the contracted Special Education Director on complex cases, compliance questions, and escalations
Collaboration & Professional Practice
- Partner with general education and gifted educators on scholar progress and accommodations
- Partner with families through regular communication about student progress and needs
- Collaborate with the Student Support Team to identify and support students with emerging needs
- Participate in relevant PLCs and professional development sessions as scheduled
This Role Requires Educators Who:

Schedule: Part-time (days/hours to be determined based on caseload and scheduling needs)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master's preferred)
- Valid Georgia teaching certification in Special Education with an endorsement in General Curriculum for grades 6–12
- Additional content-area certification or endorsement in at least one core subject (ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies); pull-out subject assignments will be matched to the teacher's certified content area(s)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a special education teacher in middle or high school settings, with direct experience writing and managing IEPs
- Demonstrated expertise with the Go-IEP platform and IEP development process
- Working knowledge of IDEA regulations and Georgia DOE compliance requirements
- Comfort teaching or reteaching content across multiple core subject areas in a pull-out setting
- Proficiency in PowerSchool or a similar SIS for scheduling and data management
- Demonstrated success supporting improved outcomes for students with disabilities
- Strong case management, documentation, and communication skills

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
