We're looking for an HR & Talent Specialist who loves finding great people but wants to do more than just recruit.
Interim HealthCare of Houston is a large, established home health organization with a growing hospice division and a team of healthcare professionals serving patients throughout the Houston area. Our people are the heart of what we do, and we’re looking for someone who can help us find great talent, create a strong employee experience, and support the day-to-day HR needs of a busy healthcare organization.
Recruiting will be a major part of this position, but this is not just a recruiter role. You’ll work across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, benefits, HRIS, compliance, employee engagement, and payroll support.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has HR and recruiting experience and wants a role where they can take ownership, make improvements, and continue growing their HR career.
What You’ll Do:
Own the Recruiting Process
A big part of your role will be helping us find and hire great people.
- Manage recruiting for clinical, administrative, sales, and support positions
- Write and post job advertisements that actually make people want to apply
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and other recruiting channels
- Review applicants, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Keep candidates engaged and moving through the hiring process
- Partner with department leaders to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies
- Help improve our recruiting processes, tools, and candidate experience
- Track recruiting activity and hiring results
Help Create a Great Employee Experience:
Once someone joins the team, HR should continue to be a resource for them.
- Coordinate and support new-hire onboarding and orientation
- Serve as an approachable HR resource for employees and managers
- Assist with employee relations questions and workplace concerns
- Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and development initiatives
- Conduct exit interviews and help identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and people-focused workplace
Support Day-to-Day HR Operations:
You’ll also be involved in the HR work that keeps a large organization running smoothly.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS information
- Assist with benefits administration and employee benefit questions
- Support leave administration and other employee programs
- Assist with performance evaluation processes
- Maintain and update job descriptions, HR policies, and employee resources
- Help ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment requirements
- Prepare HR reports and track key workforce metrics
- Serve as a backup for payroll processing, including helping ensure payroll information is accurate, complete, and submitted on time when needed
- Cross-train on payroll processes so you can confidently step in and keep payroll moving
- Identify opportunities to make HR processes faster, easier, and more effective
- Partner with leadership on HR projects and initiatives as the organization continues to grow
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is organized, driven, personable, and comfortable juggling several priorities at once.
You’ll probably be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in human resources, recruiting, or talent acquisition
- Enjoy recruiting and talking with candidates but want exposure to broader HR responsibilities
- Are comfortable communicating with everyone from frontline employees to senior leadership
- Can handle confidential and sensitive information, including employee and payroll information, with professionalism and discretion
- Are highly organized and follow through on what you say you’re going to do
- Are comfortable with technology, HR systems, spreadsheets, and learning new software
- Have strong attention to detail and understand the importance of accuracy when dealing with employee records and payroll
- Like improving processes instead of simply accepting that “this is how we’ve always done it”
- Can work independently while still being an active part of a team
- Thrive in a fast-moving environment where every day may look a little different
Healthcare or home health experience is a plus, but we’re most interested in finding the right HR-minded person who can recruit, build relationships, solve problems, and grow with us.
Experience:
- Previous HR and/or recruiting experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
- Previous payroll experience is a plus, but not required
- PHR or SHRM certification is a plus, but not required
- Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, or payroll systems is preferred
Why Join Interim HealthCare of Houston?
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend all day processing paperwork or filling the same position over and over.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across recruiting and HR, interact directly with leadership, help improve how we hire and support our employees, and take ownership of meaningful projects.
For the right person, there is significant opportunity to grow with the organization and take on increasing responsibility within HR.
If you’re a recruiter who wants to become a stronger HR professional, or an HR professional who happens to love recruiting, we’d like to meet you.
