Utility / Finished Product Forklift Operator (Wrapper Operator)
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Shift: Days (7am - 7pm)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Utility / Finished Product Forklift Operator (Wrapper Operator) to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for moving finished product pallets, operating shrink-wrap equipment, maintaining warehouse organization, and supporting production operations. Candidates must be willing and able to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating schedules, weekends, and overtime as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Move finished product pallets to the shrink-wrap machine.
- Shrink-wrap finished product pallets and place them in designated warehouse storage locations.
- Assist with conveying and staging raw materials for production.
- Assist in batch preparation as needed.
- Cross-train in positions deemed necessary by management.
- Perform roll length checks and machine lace-up procedures.
- Communicate product quality and roll lengths with the Finished Goods Handler.
- Change shrink-wrap rolls as needed.
- Remove and properly store second-quality material from the winder area.
- Pull and stage partial pallets of #1 and #2 material from designated areas.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in assigned work areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Must be available for rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 120 pounds.
- Shrink-wrap rolls may weigh up to 190 pounds and may be changed manually with assistance or by mechanical means.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to work in hot and humid environments up to 115°F.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and crouch for brief periods.
Qualifications
- Forklift certification and operating experience preferred.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and counting.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
