Duties
- Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories and vital signs with accuracy and compassion
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments across various specialties such as dermatology and emergency medicine
- Conduct phlebotomy to obtain blood samples for testing while adhering to safety protocols
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring precise documentation of patient encounters and medical records
- Support medication administration under supervision, including understanding pharmacology principles and medication reconciliation
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Assist with laboratory procedures such as specimen collection and processing in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Support hospital medicine teams with inpatient care tasks, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with patient mobility
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Experience
- Prior medical office experience or clinical internship in outpatient or inpatient settings is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards is required
- Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is necessary to ensure readiness for emergency situations
- Inpatient experience or OR experience adds valuable insight into complex patient care environments
- Familiarity with medical assisting practices such as medication administration, vitals collection, phlebotomy, and specimen handling is important
- Strong patient service skills combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings are essential

Pay: $24.33 - $29.30 per hour
