Position Summary
The Admissions Supervisor is responsible for daily operations in the Admissions Department. Screens prospective customers for post-acute setting. Works with upstream partners and Admissions Coordinator(s) to determine appropriateness of admission. Works with customers/families on the front end of the admission process to ensure an efficient admission process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Oversees tours, admission screenings and initial inquiries, as well as training auxiliary team members that are asked or assigned to do tours
2. Oversees first impressions and admission coordinator team members, including scheduling and work flows and ensures that facility entrance/lobby meets company standards for presentation and appearance
3. Responds in a timely and professional manner to inquiry calls form hospital discharge planners, families and other referral sources
4. Coordinate the admissions process timely with appropriate follow-up
5. Coordinate the inquiry process timely with appropriate follow-up
6. Report and track occupancy levels and census mix
7. Maintains and updates the Database of existing and potential referral sources
8. Maintain and updates all sales/referral tracking tools
9. Maintain a close working relationship with the CNO and Business Officer Manager to assure appropriate and efficient decisions about prospective admissions
10. Follow the established protocol for admission denials
11. Coordinates admissions and any special resident needs with all necessary internal departments to ensure smooth and professional admission
12. Process all appropriate admissions paperwork to ensure signatures, verification’s, authorizations, insurance information and all other necessary documents are obtained from the resident or responsible parties prior to admission
13. Maintain a working knowledge of Federal and State regulations and reimbursement 14. Maintain a strong working knowledge of managed care and referral processes
15. Attends and participates in in-service training.
16. Coordinates insurance re-certifications to include Recovery Care Department Competencies
