Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, service-oriented and hands-on Hotel Food & Beverage Supervisor to help lead daily food and beverage operations at Delta Hotels by Marriott Somerset.
This position provides floor leadership and supervision for restaurant, bar, café/breakfast and banquet or event service based on hotel business needs. The supervisor helps direct associates during assigned shifts, maintains service and presentation standards, responds to guest concerns, supports opening and closing procedures, and coordinates closely with culinary, banquet and hotel leadership.
The successful candidate will be visible in the operation, comfortable leading from the floor and committed to providing professional hospitality while keeping service organized, efficient and guest-focused.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on supervision and leadership during assigned food and beverage shifts.
- Help oversee restaurant, bar, café/breakfast, banquet and event service based on hotel business needs.
- Direct servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, attendants and other assigned food and beverage associates during the shift.
- Assign duties and sections and help ensure appropriate coverage throughout service.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate reservations, groups, events, menu information, service expectations and special requirements.
- Maintain a visible presence in guest-facing areas and actively monitor service quality.
- Welcome guests and assist associates with delivering attentive, professional and efficient service.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and service-recovery situations.
- Assist with restaurant and bar opening, closing and shift-transition procedures.
- Monitor reservations, seating, table turnover, service timing and overall flow of the operation.
- Coordinate closely with culinary associates to maintain accurate, timely and properly presented food service.
- Support banquet and meeting functions when assigned, including room readiness, service execution and coordination with banquet and culinary teams.
- Review banquet event information and communicate relevant service requirements to assigned associates.
- Help ensure compliance with Marriott and hotel food and beverage service standards.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, presentation and sanitation throughout food and beverage areas.
- Ensure associates follow proper food-handling, sanitation and safety procedures.
- Support responsible alcoholic-beverage service and compliance with applicable laws and hotel procedures.
- Verify appropriate setup, stocking and readiness of service areas before opening.
- Monitor operating supplies and communicate replenishment or inventory needs to management.
- Assist with cash-handling, guest checks, payment processing, POS procedures and shift-close requirements as assigned.
- Review guest checks and transactions for accuracy and help resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with training new associates and reinforcing service standards with existing team members.
- Coach associates in real time regarding service, professionalism, efficiency and guest interaction.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, uniform and grooming standards during assigned shifts.
- Communicate associate-performance or conduct concerns to food and beverage management.
- Help control waste, breakage and unnecessary operating costs.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Sales, Banquets, Housekeeping, Engineering and other hotel departments when operational needs overlap.
- Communicate equipment problems, maintenance needs and safety concerns promptly.
- Complete assigned reports, checklists, logs and shift-handoff documentation.
- Assist food and beverage management with special projects, inventory, training and other operational needs.
- Perform other reasonably related duties necessary to support hotel food and beverage operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is an energetic hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the floor, understands restaurant service and can maintain standards while balancing guest needs, associate direction and changing business levels.
Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- At least one year of restaurant, hotel, banquet, bar or food and beverage experience.
- Previous supervisory, shift-lead or demonstrated team-leadership experience.
- Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to direct associates and maintain organized service during busy periods.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and exercise sound judgment.
- Working knowledge of restaurant service procedures and food-and-beverage operations.
- Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to accurately handle guest checks, payments and basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to use or learn point-of-sale and hotel food-and-beverage systems.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push and pull food and beverage supplies or equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work a flexible hospitality schedule, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays based on hotel business needs.
Preferred
- Previous hotel Food & Beverage Supervisor or Restaurant Supervisor experience.
- Two or more years of food and beverage experience.
- Previous full-service hotel experience.
- Experience supervising restaurant and bar service.
- Banquet, meeting or event-service experience.
- Marriott or other major branded-hotel experience.
- Experience using restaurant point-of-sale systems.
- Alcohol-service and food-handler certifications applicable to the position.
- Experience training or onboarding food and beverage associates.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Pay
- Starting at $23.00 per hour and up, depends on experience
- Starting rate will be based on relevant hotel and food and beverage experience, supervisory background, banquet or event experience and demonstrated ability to independently lead assigned shifts
