About the Role
Edwards House Inn is seeking a highly organized, guest-focused General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our boutique inn. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing many hats, leading a small team, creating exceptional guest experiences, and managing everything from reservations and staff scheduling to events and community partnerships.
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining the high level of hospitality and attention to detail that Edwards House is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the inn.
- Lead and support Guest Services and Housekeeping teams.
- Manage staffing schedules and daily workflow.
- Ensure operational checklists and procedures are completed.
- Respond to guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
- Serve as the primary on-call manager as needed.
Guest Experience
- Oversee guest communications by phone, email, and messaging platforms.
- Manage reservations and online travel agency (OTA) bookings.
- Maintain exceptional guest satisfaction and respond to guest reviews.
- Oversee breakfast service, amenities, and guest packages.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage reservations and reporting.
- Coordinate vendor relationships and supply ordering.
- Review invoices, receipts, and operational expenses.
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee purchasing.
Events & Sales
- Coordinate conferences, meetings, weddings, and special events from inquiry through completion.
- Conduct venue tours and prepare event proposals.
- Coordinate vendors, catering, room blocks, and event logistics.
- Ensure successful event execution and follow-up.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Maintain relationships with local partners and vendors.
- Assist with social media and marketing initiatives.
- Support promotional campaigns and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality, hotel, tourism, or event management experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Experience supervising employees or leading a team.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable learning reservation and property management systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with boutique hotels, inns, or bed & breakfasts.
- Event planning or coordination experience.
- Customer service focused with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
Schedule
This is a full-time management position that includes a combination of weekday, evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities as business needs require.
