We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures using proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and specimen integrity
- Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, adhering to established laboratory protocols and physiology knowledge
- Accurately identify patients, verify orders, and label specimens correctly to prevent errors in processing
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition prior to collection, providing comfort and reassurance throughout the procedure
- Process and handle specimens according to laboratory techniques, ensuring proper storage, transportation, and documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment following infection control standards and hospital policies
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns or questions
Requirements
- Proven laboratory experience with a focus on specimen collection, venipuncture, and blood sampling techniques
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and aseptic technique
- Prior clinical laboratory or hospital experience preferred; familiarity with laboratory procedures is highly valued
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to care for diverse patient populations
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training in venipuncture is required or highly preferred
- Knowledge of vital signs measurement and basic anatomy enhances performance in this role
