Hotel Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

Midas Hospitality is seeking a dependable and skilled Hotel Engineer / Maintenance Engineer to join our hotel operations team. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s physical property, equipment, and guest rooms to ensure a safe, comfortable, and exceptional experience for every guest.
The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting problems, working with their hands, and taking pride in maintaining high standards of safety, appearance, and functionality throughout the hotel.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Hotel Engineer, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose repair needs, and respond to maintenance requests throughout the hotel.
Responsibilities include:

Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to hotel schedules and brand standards.

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hotel equipment, guest rooms, and public areas.

Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and mechanical repairs.

Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests while providing professional and courteous guest service.

Maintain the appearance and functionality of guest rooms, hallways, meeting spaces, exterior areas, and back-of-house spaces.

Monitor and maintain mechanical equipment, boilers, HVAC systems, lighting, appliances, and other building systems.

Perform routine inspections and identify potential safety hazards or repair needs.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, preventative maintenance records, and equipment documentation.

Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.

Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines, safety procedures, and hotel operational standards.

Properly operate and maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.

Support emergency situations and assist with after-hours maintenance needs as required.

Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, pool maintenance, or other exterior responsibilities depending on property needs.

Support additional projects and responsibilities assigned by hotel leadership.
What You Bring:

Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related trade preferred.

Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, carpentry, and general repair techniques.

Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to read and understand safety instructions, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.

Technical certifications or trade licenses are a plus.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call situations.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Candidates should be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed throughout the hotel property and may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noises, machinery, chemicals, heights, and varying temperatures.
