Position Summary: Operates the various hot heading machines in use by the Company to perform complex operations such as forming, shaping, stamping, etc. on various sizes of head configurations etc. to required close tolerances per blueprint or other specifications. Performs required quality workmanship through the use of precision measuring instruments and special test equipment. Follows scheduled workflow assignments in order to meet customer demands and production control requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Forge metal parts to print specifications and established performance standards.
- Operates various types of Hot Heading machines as required for the completion of the various operations necessary on the work pieces being formed. Maintains visual check of work in progress to assure proper functioning of equipment.
- Performs quality workmanship using precision measuring instruments.
- Refers to drawings, engineering prints and written instructions to machine products to customer / engineering specifications.
- Follows scheduled workflow according to assigned priorities and communicates deviations to department lead.
- Ensures that all materials are available prior to initiating production and communicates shortages to department lead.
- Conforms to written instructions and procedures to achieve increased performance in production and quality workmanship.
- Monitors equipment maintenance and adheres to safety regulations.
- Good housekeeping and knowledge of good machine safety is necessary as well as adherence to Company Safety Rules.
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Standing: Required for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
- Posture: Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
- Chemical Exposure: Possible exposure to coolants, lubricants, and metal dust; PPE required.
Experience/Qualifications:
· 2-3 years minimum experience in industry or related field
· Capable of setting up and running parts as required.
· Ability to visually inspect for cracks or other defects.
· Knowledge of tooling to achieve consistent quality results.
· Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
· Basic troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Schedule & Compensation
· Full-time, 1st shift 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with occasional overtime. 2nd shift 2:30pm – 11:00pm, with occasional overtime.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
