We are seeking an experienced Traveling Retail Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on retail construction projects nationwide. This individual will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel
- Lead construction efforts for ground-up retail, tenant improvement (TI), remodel, and rollout projects
- Drive project schedules and maintain production to meet aggressive timelines
- Conduct and enforce jobsite safety standards in compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and ownership teams
- Lead subcontractor meetings, site coordination meetings, and project progress updates
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings for field accuracy and execution
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and unforeseen conditions proactively
- Maintain daily reports, safety documentation, schedules, and project logs
- Ensure quality control standards are met throughout all phases of construction
- Oversee punch list completion, inspections, turnover, and final closeout activities
- Travel extensively to project sites nationwide as required
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience within retail construction
- Strong background in ground-up retail, TI, remodels, rollouts, or big-box retail projects
- Experience managing fast-track schedules and multiple subcontractor trades simultaneously
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control procedures
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project demands
- Willingness and ability to travel
Pay: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
