Goyette Mechanical is seeking a highly motivated Pipe VDC Coordinator who understands not only how to model and coordinate systems, but how those systems are fabricated, installed, and managed throughout construction. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong mechanical construction background who can bridge the gap between field operations, fabrication, project management, and BIM/VDC workflows. The successful candidate will become a key member of an expanding VDC department and will help shape standards, workflows, training, and future department growth. This role offers flexibility in work location, with opportunities for in-office work at our Fenton, Michigan or Hilliard, Ohio locations, as well as hybrid or remote arrangements depending on candidate experience and project needs.
- Bachelor/Associate’s degree or Trade School- Engineering, CAD, or construction
- Field experience, fabrication experience, or trade experience is highly valued and may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Mechanical construction/trade experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- 5+ years of BIM, VDC, detailing, coordination, or mechanical construction experience
- Advanced Revit experience
- Advanced Navisworks Manage experience
- Experience with Autodesk Fabrication CADmep or Revit Fabrication Parts
- Strong understanding of construction documents
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain coordinated BIM models for mechanical systems
- Produce installation drawings, spool drawings, and fabrication documents
- Lead and participate in coordination meetings
- Review and resolve clashes with other trades
- Collaborate with project managers, field leadership, and fabrication personnel
- Assist in project setup and model management
- Develop efficient workflows and department standards
- Support implementation of new technologies and automation tools
- Mentor junior detailers and coordinators
- Help grow and strengthen the VDC department
