Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments with precision.
- Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using order picker equipment and updating warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks, including stacking pallets, organizing materials, and preparing items for shipment or storage.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs or report issues promptly to ensure optimal operation of all heavy machinery.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace by adhering to OSHA safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and ensure accurate order picking and materials handling.
Experience
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures in a distribution environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to forklift operation and materials handling.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshoot operational issues.
- Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, load & unload procedures, and inventory control.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or team coordination is a plus but not required.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and documentation accuracy are essential.
