Automotive manufacturer located on the Northside of Chicago is in search of a CMM Programmer for our Quality Assurance Department.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to program a CMM using recognized software by modifying existing programs and creating new programs using Engineering drawings and CAD Models.
- Utilize large range of inspection, measuring, and test equipment to validate products.
- Perform incoming inspections, first piece layouts, and troubleshoot quality related issues identified during production.
- Generate Final Product, First Article, and PPAP Dimensional Inspection Reports
- Communicate findings and work with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and within the Quality Department.
- Work with a cross functional team to help resolve customer, internal and supplier quality issues.
- Provide training and mentoring to new CMM Operators and inspectors as required.
- Document and maintain quality inspection results including transactions in the ERP (Epicor) system
- Keep measurement equipment up to date per calibration requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements:
- A high school graduate or GED.
- Two years of experience programing a CMM using recognized software - PC DMIS preferred.
- Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments and test equipment.
- Ability to interpret prints and specifications with an advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T).
- Basic computer software skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to create a dimensional inspection report and balloon drawing for First Article, PPAP, etc.
- Required to perform material handling, ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
