As a SEC Teacher Apprentice, an individual will be registered in the Special Education Educator Registered Apprenticeship Program (SPED ERAP), which is a specialized “earn and learn” model, for that individual to complete a rigorous hybrid multi-year training track to become a fully certified SEC Teacher.
This position is 8 hours/day - 40 hours/week on the 190 work day calendar.
SPED ERAP - SEC Teacher Apprentice pay rate for the 2026/27 school year is $26.37/hour.
The SPED ERAP program includes, but is not limited to, the following additional requirements:
Sign and uphold the IDOL Apprenticeship Agreement
Be continuously enrolled and in good standing in a program leading to teacher certification
Completion of credits each semester/quarter towards that individual’s special education teacher certification and/or towards that individual’s educational degree as outlined in that individual’s signed preparation program from the state-approved higher education provider to which they are enrolled
Create an IdahoWorks account in accordance with SPED ERAP program guidelines

Minimum of 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to pass a background and criminal history check
Experience as a paraeducator in the field of special education preferred
Ability to obtain a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the special education subject area through a state-approved higher education provider within the three (3) to four (4) year SPED ERAP program
