If/when the teacher goes to a without-pay status, the sub will become an interim sub and will be paid per LCTA agreement as applicable, i.e. step 1 master's degree = $55,300 prorated - step 8 masters' level = $58,750 prorated with full benefits.* 2025/26 rates
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social/emotional support to students.
- Provide staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student's performance/ behavior.
- Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies as part of the Functional Behavioral Assessment process.
- Mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable the student to learn as effectively as possible in their educational program.
- Address parent concerns and provide community resources as necessary.
- Assist in developing/implementing educational programs for students with disabilities.
- Advocate for new and improved community/school service to meet the needs of students and families.
- Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities.
- Promotes collaboration among community health and mental health service providers and facilitates student access to these services.
- Deliver Counseling Services (social skills group, individual and/or family).
- Participate in Committee on Special Education Meetings.
