Job Description & Requirements:
This would be a full-time travel position working a 3 week on, 1 week off rotation schedule (12 hours/day, 7 days/week). The duties of a Heavy Equipment Traveling Mechanic include inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, fabricating, rebuilding, and maintaining both light and heavy-duty equipment related to the dredging industry. A company truck with all the necessary tools will be provided as well as all of the required additional training needed to perform the job duties.
· Perform highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs on both light and heavy equipment such as trucks, loaders, cranes, travel lift, telehandlers, both diesel/gas engines, slurry/water pumps, and all dredge related parts.
· Adjust, or repair and replace, parts in engines, transmissions, differentials, and other equipment.
· Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component systems.
· Experience with diesel engines.
· Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of working on and around heavy equipment.
· Ability to engage in heavy manual labor for extended periods, in all types of weather, and under various working conditions.
· Physically must be able to work in the field and lift at least 50 pounds.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
· Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
· Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
· Heavy equipment operation experience is a plus.
· A CDL is a plus.
· Flexibility and adaptability will be key to succeeding in this position.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 80.0 per week
