Alpha Q, Inc. is a people-first organization and are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team!
This position will be located at our Colchester, CT manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position to include, but not limited to:
- Perform advanced accounting work in a manufacturing environment
- Examine, verify, and code entries for distribution to accounts
- Trace and adjust errors, omissions, double entries, etc.
- Perform duties related to monthly close - posting journal entries, bank reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements for all divisions
- Maintain accounting records, process weekly payroll and 401k
- Assist with completion of financial statements and audits
- Allocate work to and instruct Accounting Clerk assigned to their section
- May assist with analysis work and make recommendations among other duties
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance (Accounting Major preferred)
- 2+ years of senior level accounting experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and finance principles & procedures
- Highly organized, excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to work overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor to meet customer demands
