Join iCOMAT – Revolutionising the Future of Lightweight Manufacturing!
ICOMAT is an advanced manufacturing company with game changing technology that delivers the lightest structures possible for aerospace and automotive, at a scale, rate and cost efficiency that far exceeds existing composite production processes.
We have ensured iCOMAT is made up of people with the drive and imagination to grow a business that will revolutionise the use of composite materials to enable the next generation of lightweight cars, planes and spacecraft.
We build and operate automated factories for composite materials, delivering components to Tier 1 and OEMs. The business has 3 main divisions that focus on the development of automated production machines, development of software design and production tools and lastly the operation of the factory.
Now working with >25 customers (multiple leading OEMs) and earlier this year we completed the largest ever Series A in composites manufacturing (link) to fuel a significant scale-up with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next 2-3 years and expand operations into Europe and the US.
iCOMAT has pioneered the revolutionary Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS) technology, the first ever defect-free fibre-steering process for composites. This game-changing solution helps customers unlock new levels of performance from composites across aerospace and automotive applications.
With 2 facilities in the UK, 1 facility in Dayton (Ohio-US) and plans for a European R&D and manufacturing site, we are scaling rapidly to meet growing demand.
As we scale and grow, we’re looking for talented individuals to help us continue driving this transformation. If you're ready to be part of a pioneering team that’s reshaping industries and pushing the boundaries of technology, we want to hear from you!
What will you be doing?
Facility Setup & Commissioning
Lead the physical buildout of the Dayton facility, including clean room construction, extraction systems, dust control infrastructure, and production floor layout
Coordinate and manage external contractors, vendors, and suppliers through the setup phase, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and cost discipline
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance
Own and enforce US-specific HSE requirements across the site, including OSHA standards, NFPA regulations, EPA environmental obligations, and state-level codes
Develop and maintain site safety procedures, emergency response plans, and environmental management protocols (chemical handling, waste disposal, spill prevention)
Day-to-Day Facility Operations
Manage the day-to-day running of the facility: building systems (HVAC, electrical, gas, water), maintenance schedules, security, and general services
Act as the on-site point of contact for suppliers, vendors, landlord, and facilities support providers
Vendor & Contractor Management
Source, evaluate, and manage local vendors and contractors for construction, maintenance, and ongoing facility services
What do we need from you?
Strong working knowledge of US health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, NFPA, EPA) as they apply to manufacturing facilities
Hands-on understanding of aerospace-grade facility requirements: clean rooms, carbon fibre dust control, extraction systems, fire suppression, and chemical handling
