This position is responsible for overseeing designated team members and motivating them to complete their job duties safely and effectively. Their duties include facilitating training new team members and providing them with daily objectives. Team Leaders are responsible for supporting/assisting the Business Unit Manager in scheduling all work on the shift and ensuring that there is an appropriate number of personnel to complete the work required in an efficient, safe, and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Knows, follows, models, and reinforces all safety guidelines and regulations per machine, business unit, and plant floor.
- Review daily production schedule for the department to ensure proper coverage for the shift. Notifies Business Unit Manager of any changes immediately.
- Supervises and directs machine operators in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
- Proactively communicates any potential delays, missed deadlines or customer problems, and reports them to the Business Unit Manager
- Report on employee conflicts, issues, and violations of company policy to the Business Unit Manager and/or HR
- Prepares performance assessments and/or progress reports for hourly team members.
- Responsible for documenting key events and any other pertinent information regarding team members to use for the performance assessment.
- Conducts performance assessment/progress report meetings with team members.
- Embraces the scorecard coaching system, providing feedback, direction, development, mentoring and encouragement to each team member along with the coach.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understands and proficiently works on all types of equipment to conduct all phases of the production cycle in their business unit.
- Conducts and models daily 5-S audits, sanitizing protocols and keeps business unit clean and orderly for the handoff of next shift’s team members.
- Responsible for training new team members in their business units. Utilizing established training protocols and the 30/60/90-day evaluation system.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Physical ability to do work requires frequent twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for 8+ hours per day.
- Physical ability to do work requires repetitive lifting/pulling/carrying weights ranging from 1 to 50 lbs.
- Physical ability to work on a production floor that can be above 110 degrees F and humid in the summer.

- Ability to work in high-pressure, demanding environment.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train in other production/processing areas.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, inter-department personnel, and other production employees.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- High school graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED:
- Business-related college credits
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in a production associate position
