Overview
Solid Rock Community School, a K-12 private school, in Tarpon Springs Florida, is looking for experienced teachers to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. We are expanding and seeking great fit new staff members to join our team. We are accepting applications for 1) Math- 7th-12th levels
2) Science & Tech- Middle & High School (AI, coding, canva, cricut, VR, 3D printing and more)
Must be patient, kind, firm, and reliable. Must have experience working with a diverse population of students.
Would you like to work in school that teaches compassion towards animals and all people? That has academic classroom sizes of 20 students or less? Where the teachers have lots of support? Where you have a nice classroom on a beautiful campus?
Applicants must love working with children, have patience, and are hardworking and reliable, and a team player. Must have a college degree and teaching or relevant experience. Exp. with inclusion and ESE is a plus. Love for kids and education required.
Familiarity with FACTS LMS is helpful, but not required. Experience with ESE is preferred.
The world has changed and teaching must evolve with the times, and we want teachers who are flexible, patient and kind. We are looking for solid staff members who are not just good teachers but can also be great role models to our families/students. Compassion and love is key.
We are a certified Green School and Ocean Friendly campus and love like-minded staff members. We are also one of two schools in the US with an exclusive plant-based kitchen. If not, that is ok.....just be sure you are open minded and supportive. We even have our own animal rescue sanctuary. Therefore, applicants who enjoy sustainable living and are plant-based/vegan, vegetarian, environmentalists, or animal rescue/rehabbers are highly desired.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
- Deliver instruction that caters to diverse learning styles, including special education needs and advanced learners
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive lessons
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and clear expectations (we train on our standards)
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, extracurricular activities like sports coaching, and school administration tasks
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student achievements in accordance with school policies
Skills
- Strong knowledge of subject
- Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, parent interactions, and team collaboration
- Proven classroom management experience with the ability to create a positive learning environment
- Ability to incorporate learning technology tools into daily instruction; familiarity with library services and educational software
- Background in private school settings is a plus
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth through participation in education administration training or special education certification programs
