Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Mechanic, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles at various job sites. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse machinery, including trucks, excavators, cranes, and farm equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. As a Mobile Mechanic, you will deliver expert service directly on-site, providing quick turnaround times and minimizing downtime for our clients. Your mechanical expertise and proactive approach will keep our fleet and equipment in top condition, supporting the success of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension checks, tire service, and hydraulic system servicing to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and diesel engines with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed through welding and fabrication techniques to meet operational requirements.
- Inspect vehicles and machinery for mechanical issues or safety concerns; perform alignments and shocks & struts replacements to maintain safety standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and communicate effectively with clients about repair status and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, suspension, and vehicle maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and perform automotive diagnostics efficiently.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely.
- Knowledge of diesel mechanics, heavy truck repair, HVAC systems related to vehicles or machinery is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks and working in diverse outdoor environments.
