Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lease Operator to join our team in overseeing Oil & CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations. In this role, you will work closely with the Production Foreman and broader operations team to monitor production, troubleshoot equipment issues, maintain accurate records and help ensure safe, efficient field performance.
Responsibilities
Production & Well Operations
- Monitor and optimize daily production information from wells, including tracking pressures, temperatures, and flow rates, production facility and plant.
- Perform routine well checks and adjust chokes, valves, and artificial lift systems to maintain optimal production levels
- Gauge tanks and record production volumes (oil, water, gas) and injection volumes accurately in daily reports
- Conduct well testing and adjust operating parameters (pressure, flow rates) to maximize recovery efficiency
Co2 Injection & EOR Operations (High -Pressure Systems)
- Monitor CO₂ injection rates, pressures, and volumes to ensure alignment with reservoir management and EOR strategies
- Inspect and maintain CO₂ injection wells, pipelines, valves, and related high-pressure infrastructure
- Identify and respond to pressure anomalies, leaks, or system upsets in injection systems
- Coordinate with entire team to evaluate injection performance and optimize oil recovery
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate and maintain production and facility equipment including separators, compressors, treaters, and tank batteries
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on production and injection equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and escalate major issues to maintenance or engineering teams
- Support facility startup, shutdown, and upset condition response
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Adhere strictly to all HSE, OSHA and regulatory requirements for oilfield and CO2 Injection operations
- Recognize and mitigate hazards specific to CO₂, including asphyxiation risk and high-pressure release scenarios
- Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit-to-work systems, and emergency response drills
Data Reporting & Field Coordination
- Maintain accurate logs of production, injection, pressures, and equipment performance
- Analyze field data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements
- Ensure proper handling, transfer, and disposal of produced fluids in compliance with regulations
- Responsible for maintaining/repairing equipment and identifying potential problems.
- Organize and manage daily work schedules to support efficient field operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in oil and gas, production operations, field operations, or a related industrial environment preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
- Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with company procedures.
- Valid driver’s license .
