The Opportunity
- We are seeking 3 full time, 2 dayshift driver, 1 night shift (approx. 40 hours per week with over time opportunities). Day shift drivers will transport fresh and frozen seafood from our warehouse location in Brooklyn to restaurants throughout Manhattan. 1 Night shift driver will bring fresh seafood from the Fulton Fish Market back down to the Brooklyn warehouse location.
The Driver will perform a variety of duties include:
- Delivering orders in a timely and efficient manner along designated route
- Sorting, loading, unloading delivery orders
- Follows established procedures to meet delivery deadlines
- Help with inventory transfers from our warehouse to retail location
- Communicate with warehouse management team about any issues that arise
- Follow all traffic safety ordinances
The Ideal Candidate
- Has knowledge of seafood: Fish, crabs, shrimp, etc.
- Organized – you are detail oriented, accuracy driven and able to manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated – you are always looking for ways to improve efficiency and customer relations.
- Team players – you want to work together with your other team members to make sure each customer is well taken care of.
- Ability to speak Spanish is ideal, but not required.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable driving a refrigerated box truck
- Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week including evenings, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business, with potential for over time compensated at time and a half.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
